Hollywood Drive-In Theatre

About Hollywood Drive-In Theatre

Hollywood Drive-In Theatre has been a Rensselaer County staple since it opened in 1952 in the hamlet of Averill Park, east of Albany and south of Troy. The single-screen, 400-car drive-in sits along Route 66 and runs nightly double features from mid-April through September, with all audio delivered in stereo on 88.1 FM. Adult tickets are $9, children 5–10 are $5, and kids 4 and under are free — a full double feature included in that price. The Hollywood's setting in the suburban-rural fringe of the Capital Region makes it a popular destination for Albany-area families who want a classic night out without a long drive. The theater has maintained its traditional drive-in character through decades of change in the film exhibition industry, and its double-feature format remains a genuine value for families and film lovers alike.
