Overlook Drive-In Theatre

About Overlook Drive-In Theatre

Overlook Drive-In Theatre has been family-owned and operated since it opened in 1955, making it one of the Hudson Valley's most enduring entertainment traditions. Set on 12 sprawling acres in Poughkeepsie, the single-screen, 750-car theater offers one of the most spacious drive-in experiences in the mid-Hudson region. Sound broadcasts in stereo on 87.9 FM. Adult tickets are $10 and children are $7; budget-minded families can take advantage of Monday bargain nights at just $6 per person. Frequent visitors can purchase discount coupon books. The April through September season gives Hudson Valley residents a full six months of outdoor cinema. Overlook's location in Poughkeepsie — midway between New York City and Albany on the Hudson River — makes it accessible to a broad audience, and the theater's 70-plus years of continuous family operation reflects a genuine commitment to the drive-in experience that has served Dutchess County through generations.
